Things to do in the city of Auckland

Auckland, in the North Island of New Zealand, is the largest and most populous urban area in the country. The 2014 Mercer Quality of Living Survey ranked Auckland 3rd place in the world on its list, while the Economist Intelligence Unit's World's most liveable cities index of 2015 ranked Auckland in 9th place. Although the city of Auckland is an excellent place to live, it is also a great tourist attraction.
Sky Tower

At the center of the city stands Auckland’s main attraction, Sky Tower. Whether you are looking to gamble at the sky tower casino, get a feed at the sky tower buffet, or get an adrenaline rush from the sky walk/jump, this tower has it all. A trip up the Sky Tower is a must for a number of reasons which include:
  • ·       View the city from 220 metres high above street level.
  • ·       Panoramic 360˚ views up to 80 kilometres in every direction.
  • ·       Spot key landmarks, volcanoes and other historical locations within the greater Auckland area.
  • ·       If dining with a view is what you’re after, then you’re spoilt for choice with three restaurants and cafes up the Sky Tower - Orbit 360˚ revolving restaurant, the superbly chic and elegant The Sugar Club or relax with your coffee, cheese board or ice cream at the Sky Cafe.

·       Don’t forget to check out the school holiday activities at the Sky Tower, which are held three times a year and provide fun for the whole family.

At the base of the Sky Tower, the SKYCITY Auckland entertainment complex is home to two world-class hotels, Auckland’s premier dining precinct with over 20 bars and restaurants, a 700 seat theatre and a world-class Casino.

Mt Eden

Mount Eden is a vibrant, funky suburb with a winning combination of culture and nature.

Walk to the top of Mount Eden’s volcanic cone for some of the best views in Auckland and afterwards treat yourself to a spot of shopping in the village and lunch at one of the local cafés.
