Iconic Landmarks in Rome - Italy

Hey world, Paolo here :)

Exploring Rome, is one of many fascinating destinations that everyone should 100000% consider. The break taking landmarks and iconic ancient buildings that surround the city make it a great destination for travellers who love to engage in the ancient times of Rome Italy.

Colosseum

The Colosseum is one of the most imposing ancient structures. Imagine it all white, completely covered in splendid travertine stone slabs. It is elliptic in shape in order to hold more spectators. It had four floors; the first three had eighty arches each; the arches on the second and third floors were decorated with huge statues. However what we see nowadays, and what i had the pleasure of seeing is just the skeleton of what was the greatest arena in the ancient world.

Trevi Fountain

The Trevi fountain, inspired by Roman triumphal arches, is the largest and most famous Baroque fountain in Rome. It is such an iconic landmark that many people visit and of course can't miss! As it is in the centre of the city where majority of the shops are, so even if you weren't sure where to find it, it'll pop up in front of you without expecting it. Its always been a fantastic place, and of course throwing money over your head for good luck is something that everyone visiting wants to do! Just like the movies ;)

 Piazza Venezia

Anyone visiting Rome will sooner or later end up at Piazza Venezia. This square is located in the heart of Rome, at the end of the Via del Corso, Which is where all the shops are located so stumbling upon the Piazza Venezia is most likely for all your tourists visiting Rome. The building that stands tall within Piazza Venezia is the "Il Vittoriano" a marble monument dedicated to King Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of Italy.

Spanish Steps

This is always, and i mean always packed with people. Ive been around 4-5 times now and there has always been very few spots left to sit! This monumental stairway of 125 steps is a outstanding tourist spot where all can smile and wave as they snap photos of them selves to really inherit the true icons of Italy. This is one of my favourite places to attend, its history is dynamic and has been around for many many many years... A lot of years.... Must Visit!
